In 1997 Linda Flores teamed up with Diana Alvarez,
Rose Medrano
and Dustin Ramirez and formed " Latin Influenze" .
The band went
through a
few member changes and ended up with Linda Flores
and
Richard Hernandez in 2005. Their genre is Smooth Jazz,
Latin Jazz, Latin Rock. Salsa & Merengue.LPaul
Klemm, Diana Alvarez and Stephanie Copeland perform
with us on special occassions.

classical guitar now for certain songs...We really

American Diabetes Association
More people wearing long sleeve shirts gathered in
one place
Saturday than have been seen in months — but most
were
rolling up their sleeves four miles later after
their trek
against diabetes. Organizers challenged
people to
“step out to fight diabetes,” and they did.
Some participants
pushed strollers, tugged wagons, walked dogs or
jogged. Many
jived to music mid-stride while passing
“Entertainment Stations”
along the route. “People gathered because we want
to show
our love of those who have diabetes,” said Bishop
Edmond
Carmody, who prayed during opening ceremonies for
people’s
relief from the disease. “We hope with this
encouragement that
they take better care of themselves.” So many
people have their
own personal message, said Janie Bell, director of
the American
Diabetes Association of the Coastal Bend.

Money raised: About $115,000 Saturday and about
$35,000 more from team goals anticipated!

The
Texas Star Party
(TSP) is one of the largest annual
star parties
in the
United States.
April 15 -April 22, 2012
TSP
was started by
Deborah Byrd,
members of the Austin Astronomical Society,
and
McDonald Observatory
in August 1979. It was a weekend gathering
of amateur astronomers at Davis Mountains
State Park near McDonald Observatory in far
west Texas. In 1982, TSP was reorganized as
a week long event and was held at the Prude
Guest Ranch near
Fort Davis, Texas.
For one year only, in 1997, the event was
held at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment, on
the
banks of the
Frio River,
40 miles north of
Uvalde, Texas.
In 1998, TSP returned to Prude Ranch, where
it continues to be held annually in late
April or in May near the time of
new moon.
